I made a red velvet cake as one of my tiers for my wedding cake (the day before my wedding!!) And it was absolutely devoured, not a bit left!

My friend hates chocolate cake but loves red velvet. I haven't told her it's Chocolate cake I disguise cause I did that once and the person was devastated. What is it about red velvet that tricks a people?

I absolutely hate fruity red velvet cakes strangely, I think it's because I grew up liking the traditional red velvet cake. But I absolutely adore how red velvet cake can be done differently these days for those who like different things.

Cream cheese frosting for red velvet is an abomination. The original, and far superior frosting is a stabilized Italian buttercream that is very light. Cream cheese is too heavy and the taste overwhelms the red velvet.
