Castrol Super Clean is the best paint stripper ever, ever.

@xXiRunInCirclesXx If it's just the mounting pins that will be broken off, I'd say go ahead and break them - I do that all the time, then reassemble it with superglue or epoxy. If the fascia itself will break, you might not be able to strip it fully. But you can wet sand the whole body, then shoot it with a good primer to set your base layer.

What do you rinse it with? If it's just water can you allow it down the drain?

Yes, this will work for any scale diecast car - I've stripped a couple of 1/64 bodies.

@cp22211 Yes, it will pretty much remove everything that isn't metal.

I have a diecast bus I want to do a custom paint job on but besides there being paint on the body of the bus it also has some on the plastic windows, can I still use the paint stripper or would it damage the plastic windows?

This paint stripper will damage anything plastic, so best to avoid using it on the windows. To clear those off, I find physical removal works best: start with 2000 grit wet sandpaper to remove the paint, then use either finer grades or (my personal preference) the Novus 3-2-1 polishing system to get rid of the scratches left in the glass.

I'm not sure if you're still here on YouTube, but I have a question. Will this be okay to do on a 1/64th?

CSC is great for stripping plastic parts

I make my own decals in Illustrator and get them printed onto blank decal stock by Bare Metal Foil.

@BayBeeKitTea It depends a lot on what the base car looks like, how much needs to be modified, your skill level, etc. Shoot me an e-mail with more details about the project and I'll see if I can help walk you though it.

Hi. Will any automotive paint stipper do?

Will normal paint thinner do the job? How about Isoproyl Alcohol?

What is the best way to clean up the Automotive paint stripper? Is it safe to pour it down the drain?

Thanks for the video/info....getting back into modeling, but not aircraft/armor this time. Would spend too much time detailing everything, but zombies & dioramas? OH YEAH!! Thing is, there's not too many 1/35th or 1/32nd current model car kits available, so going with die cast. Until I saw your video, was going to just soak the metal bodies in lacquer thinner, but your way will work faster/easier. Ands by doing some looking price wise on Ebay, found die cast stuff is actually cheaper than a model kit? Some vehicles will be modified to survive the zombie apocalypse, while others will be destroyed, crashed, etc.

Brake fluid or st. Mark can do the job

Dude, try PINE SOL or acetate if you are going to pour the remains down the drain! People DRINK that water. Pine Sol is much cheaper and just as effective. Wait a day or a few days depending on the paint (varies between brands) and use a scouring pad like the type used for cleaning dishes. Pine Sol and acetate are obviously safer because both are household products. Plus, you can actually touch the stuff and its safe if you get some on your clothes.
