I learnt about this In environmental science it’s just aeolian erosion, aka wind erosion. Looks like ripples on sand.

I was doing the same research a few days ago, follow the sand it will take you to Napal region and you will see bedrock rocks with little ponds everywhere that look an awful lot like a ocean used to be there or went through there. If you look hard enough you can find the ripples and streams where the water came through mountain sides and created devastating mudslides. Its amazing.
