50 year old here. I see this commercial and literally want to cry. How did things get so backwards. Back then that was the goal. Be a clean shaved man with a girlfriend/wife, great job and a man who takes care of his family. Seems thoses days are long gone now. Or frowned upon at least.

Great commercial from the 1980s. Inspiring and uplifting in spirit. Back when men were men and proud of it! Gillette needs to bring that image back into its commercials and abandon the woke idiocy.

Possibly the greatest male-orientated commercial of all time. Exceptional work.

I'm an old man...but was starting my career when this commercial came on. It just made you feel better about being alive and a man. Wow, how things have changed.

This advert was the blueprint to my life ever since I first watched it at 8 years old, there was something so pure and righteous, girlfriend career wife family, it made becoming a man seem the best thing ever, I return to this video once a year or so just to reset my brain and get back on track! my favourite advert of all times ! “Father to son it’s what we’ve always done” we must teach our sons the right path.

Every once in a while I come back to watch this commercial. It's so good, Men being celebrated. I hope one day that is the norm again.

Reject the modern day propaganda lads.

Embrace traditional masculinity.

I grew up with this song/commercial. This was just ordinary common then. My father had his Gillette safety razor from the Marine Corp. 1959. I loved the Brush Plus from 1985 so much that "Santa" brought me one for Christmas then.

I read hundreds of men shedding tears here at this commercial. Myself included. Showed it to a co worker today on my construction site. He did the same thing. I know exactly why too!...

It was an era gone by of reaching for the stars. Being American and aspiring not only to be a a family man, a lover, an athlete, a father, a husband, a guru whizz kid, a worker, and a masculine man. You know why this song commercial strikes the heart of every man?

BECAUSE THAT AMERICA. THAT PRIDE. THAT WHOLESOMENESS! THAT MASCULINITY IS NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN!

They really dug deep into the male psyche. Im a husband, im a father who loves his son, im a son who loves his father, im a sportsman, im a spaceman, im a wall street guy. I am the best a man can get.

Wow who thought men were once allowed to be strong, confident, successful and happy, instead of the weak, “toxic” unhappy failures they are portrayed as now

I was just a kid when I would see this commercial. It’s still okay to be a man forget what you hear

Grew up watching Gillette World Sports Special here in Kenya with these ads. They had African actors.

It's so obvious how far we've regressed as a society that it's reflected in our razor commercials
