If you don't have a potato ricer (which i assume is the majority), you can use a rough sieve instead, one of those big holey bowls, OR a regular sieve if you're very patient.

I learned from my grandmother to add caraway seeds to the boiling water for jacket potatoes. This makes a big difference in taste, I think. Try it out...🙂👍 I definitely do this with boiled potatoes with quark or potato salad. Greatings from Germany 🙂

Yukon golds are the best potato and for mashed potatoes especially. I love the tiny ones I make chips and mashed potatoes after broiling them with the same kind

You should try it on mustard oil. Just fry some onions & green or dried chilli on mustard oil with salt. Then just pour all the ingredients with oil on the smashed potatoes & mix it properly. It tastes good.

If you don’t have a rice use a large seive. Works just as well, maybe a little more elbow grease.
