Sir Francis Drake is a renowned explorer who most know of only because they played the Uncharted Video games. Sir Francis Drake plays the part of being Nathan Drakes ancestor, of which he inherited the legendary silver ring that hangs around Nathan’s neck. However, how much of that is true?

Is Sir Francis Drake a real person? Is he a pirate that actually has lost treasure out there still yet to be found? Is Nathan Drakes legendary ring real? The answer may surprise and delight you because some of the things Uncharted goes into are more than just the use of historical figures as plot devices.

Sir Francis Drake is indeed real and while he is considered a pirate by the Spanish he was considered a hero to the English… but why is that?
