Thank you so much for this! I was very frustrated because all the science-based fitness influencers were saying this move is the best way to train your abs but I couldn’t overload without my grip strength failing because the rope is just so awkward to grab! So this has dramatically improved my ability to train this muscle group!

This isn't the same movement. This doesn't put the same stretch on the abs, and the strength curve is different from normal cable crunches. I'm not saying this version sucks. It's actually a pretty clever solution, but it's a different exercise altogether. It's like saying preacher curls are the same as barbell standing curls

Doing crunches in general is npc Shit. If you’re doing your compounds, squat, deadlifts, pull ups, etc. crunches are useless
