I’ve not seen a JG video in years. YouTube must see you as an authority on this topic John for it to recommend it to me . Well done John. I’m probably more interested in the R6iii over the R5ii … my R5 is still so good.

Another great video, John. As exciting as new gear is, it doesn’t seem like there’s enough there for me to upgrade from my current r5 and r5c setup for what I do. But I will be very interested to hear your thoughts once yours comes in!

Thanks for the review John! I’m currently looking for my second camera to tag along with my Canon R6.

Cool breakdown with some interesting points not covered elsewhere. Do you know if it has the old 59:59 limit?

Looking forward to your thoughts after you’ve used it for a while in your work. Nothing like the viewpoint of a photographer who puts the dinner on his table with a given tool to know its real strengths and weaknesses. From everything I’ve seen, it’s the new RF lenses that make the whole system interesting.

I have to say your video are very instructive and detailed. I've been subscribe to your channel for over a year and find it very entertaining, I've been using Canon for over 30 years since film was out there. I have the Canon R5 and I have to said that camera is a "WOW" of a camera. I hope You when you get your new R5 II do more videos details of the new features of the camera in still and video. Thank you for your education.

If it had higher resolution for stills I may of been interested but then at the current silly prices I doubt I would of pulled the trigger.

Will be sticking with my 5DsR and 5D4 bodies for some time yet. Would like something that will shoot 4k video with out MJPEG or a crop but for what I do on YouTube now and again it's just not worth dropping any money at this point.

No doubt it will be a workhorse for many though.

Thank you for your overview and look forward to you getting one in your hands. Best part of the announcement for us thrifters is the soon to be flooded used market on the R5's and R3's! 😂

What’s the difference between 1st curtain electronic vs electronic? I shoot 1st curtain electronic in my R5 because it seems faster than mechanical. Is it?

When I compare it to electronic, I noticed that it makes a “shutter” noise and it doesn’t give me the banding I get in electronic. Are they equal in fps?

Yeah I'm on the fence, being a videographer and photographer it definitely checks off a lot more...but all my photographer buddies are like nope, don't want to spend $4299....now if they had a photo only version for like $2500 it would sell like hotcakes....they just don't want to pay for the video features they'll never use. Though I wish canon would come out with their own XLR adapter for the hotshoe because I have read a lot of bad reviews on that tascam being DOA, or dying a few months in...so just doesn't seem reliable. Where on the Panasonic the XLR1 and now XLR2 adapters are top notch and even support 32-bit on the gh7.
