Why British Bias almost RUINS Formula One

Max Verstappen defended hard in Austria in the 2024 Formula One season. That's true. He didn't deserve the whole British media piling onto him.
This video is about the British F1 media being biased and why it's bad for the sport.

I’m an Aussie and I hate the British bias from the Sky F1 team.

The bigotry at Sky F1 is so bad I have asked our sole formula 1 provider to re-evaluate the source. It's truly disgusting.

I am British and, the bias absolutely aggravates me! The bias of Crofty alone is awful and, listening to him is no fun. He knows nothing. Lazenby, a Rugby sport guy, has no business being F1 lead presenter. Crofty should not be a commentator. I'm sorry on behalf of these biased fools.

Will Buxton confirmed his ignorance and bias with his obnoxious and childish laughing at Alex Brundle's facts and evidence. Buxton is a clown. Thank you Alex for the breakdown

I'm from the UK. Followed formula 1 since the mid 80s. I can't tolerate the bias the uk produces. SKY is a total joke . We need another source to cover this great sport.

When Ayrton was still driving, he was despised by British F1 fans. Mostly because of his take-no-prisoners approach to driving, which put him in frequent conflict with Brit darling Nigel Mansell, also well known for his aggressive driving. Every time Senna and Mansell beefed, the commentators and motoring press blamed Senna. It wasn't until after Ayrton's death that every British F1 fan became a posthumous Senna fan. This has _always_ rankled me.

The first sentence explainig bias is gold. I couln't agree more with this video. Especially after the British GP where in the eyes of the English Lewis drove brilliantly. They forget to mention McLaren fumbled the strategy again in the fastest car and the Mercedes was second fastest that day. The Red Bull was third fastest and Verstappen came close like in '21. This fact is being ignored even by Peter Winsor.

The worshiping of domestic athletes is a thing in Britain.

It doesn't ALMOST ruin it. It DOES ruin it. We constantly see certain people having double standards and bending the truth quite often just because of British bias. Just a quick example, they said Hamilton didn't make any mistakes, and it's not that big of a deal because he did Drive well and he won the race, but out of all of the Front Runners Max is the only one that didn't go off track. Lewis, George, Oscar, and Lando all went off in the wet, Max didn't.

Many thanks for making this video! As a non-Brit I find the bias so blatant.
Max for instance has barely 3 championships with 1 of them a serious fight to the wire, yet the Brits always use the words "Boring" and "It's the car" to discredit him .
Lewis on the other hand, sailed through 7 on his rocketship, yet they never say "It's the car" and always imply that he is supposed to win all of the time as though he is entitled to do so.
Sadly, they don't even care how they are perceived.

Sky F1 is British, I can live with that.
Hill, Croft, Buxton, Palmer and Craig Slater they obviously still haven't processed AD2021.
But some of these are often used as steward.
Herbert openly saying Max deserves a lesson whilst Herbert did not execute the rules correctly.
He should have used the white/black flag, but instead handed a questionable time penalty.

However, F1 uses Sky as its media outlet and that sheds the above persons in a different light.
Current F1 media is extremely unbalanced and I dare to say toxic, why no Spanish, German or Dutch presenters?
They are all Brits and with F1 covering the whole world I think its fair to say something needs doing.
Everyone outside the UK sees that British bias, as often mentioned by Senna, Schumacher, Alonso, Verstappen and yesterday also Prost.
All these world champions have said the same thing, Brits are extremely bad losers.

Sky was over the top this last weekend with 3 Brits finishing top 3 in qualy at the British GP. Don't they realize they are a world feed?

Exactly my thoughts. Unfortunate outcome of a racing incident. The way Sky completely ignored Norris's driving and just went into Max. Both Palmer and Davidson in their 'analysis' called out Max moving under breaking, but didn't even show telemetry or an onboard proof of him turning the wheel under breaking. I am happy that saner voices prevailed and Max got some support (including from some Brits).

Unfortunately, I live in Australia, and the only way I can watch this great sport is on Fox.I can’t stand the British bias. They have no respect for Max, who we all know is the number one driver in the world. Why does Max even bother talking to the likes of Ted, Martin etc.He certainly doesn’t need them.I wish he could continue his boycott permanently.Gk Max!

British bias is so bad

And Lando drove into him🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately they will never, ever change until maybe people start boycotting. But that won't happen cause most people don't have the spine for that. What we should be doing is pressure F1 into making sure that their international broadcasts have a more diverse group of people commentating, presenting and analysing. You can't expect commentary to be unbiased when the staff is all British and there are three British top drivers on the grid. But this has been going on for ages with other non-British WDC's as well and still nothing has changed.

I often have to mute the volume during races to get a rest from the Sky commentators who overwhelm the race with endless blabbering.

Nice analyse. Also AD'21 the first round were Hamilton went of track and gaining an advantage. He did not have to give his place back to Verstappen (dirty air). Next year, AD'22 Hamilton did the same against Sainz, first round and same corner. Sainz complained that Hamilton did the same ttick as in 21. In the 4th round Hamilton had to give his place back to Sainz...
Silverstone 21, accident with Max (more than 50G). In the same race Hamilton left more space for Leclerc, but Leclerc on the outside went of the ideal line (Verstappen had) and went of track. Sky Sports never analizes those accidents, that said enough unfortunately.
