What happened to Mathematics, English, and History - Never mind technical training. Teachers should leave their politics at home.

Interesting side note:
A Southern California Teacher was fired in March for not hiding students' gender preferences from parents. Stop acting like all teachers would be 'forced' to snitch on their students. Most want to do the right thing, and keep parents in the loop. But they are afraid of the repercussions.

Let’s call it what it REALLY is…making sure important information about minor children is not being withheld from their parents.

It is school...parents and the school are supposed to be transparent and work together about everything that happens from the second the kids get on the bus or dropped off until the second they leave on the bus or get picked up. Even if the kid has not told their parents it is something the teacher and PARENTS should discuss because there are a many reasons why the teachers should talk to the parents. What are the reasons the kid has kept it from their parents? Are there any reasons that...wait a second, how about the fact THAT THEY ARE THE PARENTS AND THAT IS THEIR CHILD PLAIN AND SIMPLE. So much I want to say but I would probably get banned. Sick and tired of this ridiculous bs...

Having a California education is not something worth talking about. Almost a burn in itself.

Send kids with a note stating "My gender or personal identity is private and not subjected to any questioning. If a teacher asks just once about my personal identity, I and my parent will take legal action against them, and the school, citing California Penal Code 647.6, which pertains to bothering or annoying children under the age of 18."

Here's a thought...teachers are already swamped with so many responsibilities, why are we adding this to their plates? Most teachers don't care what name students want to be called by, and as long as it is respectful and not a disturbance to the class it's an easy accommodation. Teachers don't need to be turned into snitches for something parents should be open with their children in the first place. As a parent, if my child felt they couldn't tell me something that personal, I would seriously question what I did to make my child feel unwelcome to share such information.

Parent your own children, don't force teachers to get involved in something that should be addressed in the family. I want my tax dollars to go to teaching children...not to go play religious moral police.
