My favourite way is to make the person repeat themselves. If they are to daft to figure out they have gone to far it will repeat the questions with a breakdown "so what you are really asking/saying *insert the insult but plain and brutally on the nose*, did I understand your question right?" Do this with a straight face or even a sly smile. It always makes people super uncomfortable. Now they have to not only repeat the insult but comfim it to your face as you just gave it all of your attention. Not many dare to take the challenge but if they do, slam them down with a brutally honest answer, no apologies and completely own it. They will never come for you again. I promise you this. And you will know whether you should continue associating with them. You are not obligated to be likeble or to like everyone you meet.

What I do is I ignore that person itself and start talking to my friend indirectly about that person like ( these days people are so insecure and that's why they insult other people)

Here is what i do
'Ur hair looks like spaghetti' (yes someone actually said this to me and i have curly hair so its a regular occurance, yes i do get offended from it)
'Can you repeat what you said?'
'Ur hair looks like spaghetti'
'Huh?'
At this point they begin to get aggitated but repeat what they said
(Louder) 'your hair looks like spaghetti'
'Sorry i ddint catch that, could you repeat that for me please?' I say this more formally to make them more annoyed, it usually works
'YOUR HAIR LOOKS LIKE SPAGHETTI'
'Can you speak up please?
At this point they will porbably give you a light insult like 'ur such an idiot' 'ur so dumb' or tell u sm like 'f*** off'. Here, laugh, as they take the walk of shame and leave.

This might sound cringe and it doesnt work for everyone, but its really funny when you see genuine anger when they leave

One more: be real with em. Don't give into their attempts to goad u into responding with aggression. They live in a world where there can only be one winner, so give their "victory" in an unsatisfying way.

Litreally today my chemistry teacher insults me but i laugh at my insult too and then he said why are you laughing i am insulting you thats the most satisfying for me to hear that he shocked that i am laughing at my insult and my teacher confused too Lmao 😂

A very good one is using self-irony against who insulted you, showing that you just don't give a fuck about the insult or even over exaggerating it, but this one depends by your personality (ex. if someone call you gay say: man - "do you usually approach like this the guys you like?"; woman - "are you scared that I could stole your boyfriend?"; exaggerating - "yeah I really like taking a c*m shower everyday, it's really relaxing, but I'm sure you know better than me".
Especially the last one leave them whitout any word and it's very funny, even because you can be very creative.
If you don't wanna insult them in return, simply use self-irony to cut conversation: "gay? I wish it everyday".)
P.S.: I don't see gay as an insult, but a lot of girls that I didn't give a shit tried this to offend me, or friends to joke, so it's the first concrete example that came to my mind.

I think I have one... when somebody is insulting me, for example they call me “fat”, “stupid” etc, I will just simply say, “Clearly people who are just low lives who have nothing better to do will feel that way towards me” and then i would just walk off with the middle finger, is that good?
