For all people asking: Yes, in theory it is breakable. It has 800 durability points. that by far the most from all shields. Second best has 90.

There is a side quest that can grant you an npc who can replace the shield if it breaks. It is no big deal.

I tested the Octorock method with the shield, but with no luck. Works well on low-end weapons, but thats about it.

alittle disappointed the best shield in the game can break, makes most people not even use it because they don't want it to break so what's the point in getting it. i think they should of made it unbreakable or at least like the master sword where if you use it to much it runs out of energy and has to recharge

There is an option on the game to repair itens? There is a way to know that a weapon is almost going to break before break? To give u a chance to change weapon without breaking it?

Least complicated means in I've seen. Some people come in by way of an old mine cart, I suppose that's the way you have to go if you have low hearts and stamina, and no Zora armor set bonus. I waited until VERY late in the game, and by that time you just have to glide over from the Hinox's hill to the northeast, swim a little to a small dock then run up a little bit of pathway to this entrance.
