Lesson 15 "Rev 7 Interlude: The 144,00 and the Great Multitude

Revelation’s seven seals (Revelation 6:1-8:1) have long been a topic of animated discussion among Adventists, Protestants, and the world in general.

What do the seven seals mean? Must we understand then literally or symbolically? What principles must we apply to them in order to understand their true meaning?

In this ANCHOR class study, we dedicate an entire week to decode the meaning of the seals verse by verse by applying historicist principles. Not only will we study the seven seals, per se, but also the magnificent introductory vision in chapters four and five as well as the prophetic interlude of Revelation 7. We will answer questions such as the following (and many more!):

• What principles must we apply to the study of the seven seals?
• Do chapters four and five depict the judgment scene that began in 1844 or do they apply to Christ’s inauguration upon His ascension?
• Who are the four living creatures and the 24 Elders?
• What do the four horses represent and why are they different colors?
• Who are the souls that are crying out from under the altar?
• Must we understand the great earthquake and the signs in the sun, moon, and stars literally?
• Who are the 144,000 and when will they live? Is the number literal or symbolic?
• What is the half hour of silence in heaven when the seventh seal is broken?
• What relevance do the seven seals have for my own personal walk with Jesus?

Dear Pastor Bohr, I'm so grateful for the light God has given you for His people.😊 Please help me understand what Ellen White says in The Story of Redemption (ch 65 para 2) when she says "Nearest the throne are those who were once zealous in the cause of satan...Next are those who perfected Christuan character in the midst of falsehood and infidelity, those who honoured the law of God when the Christian world declared it void ( is this not the 144, 000?), and the millions of all ages, who were martyred for their faith. And beyond is the great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds..." Are these great multitudes not just the redeemed of all ages who have looked to Jesus and His righteousness and been saved? But didnt go thru the time of trouble as did the 144, 000? Ellen paints 3 distinct groups here it looks to me. The great multitude being "beyond" the group of 144, 000 and the martyrs. Thankyou for your efforts. the half hour silence in heaven is the thousand years of peace on earth, heaven is on a break because earth is taken care of by jesus under his rulership with the royal priesthoods.

john's timing in revelation is based on the amount of time he spend in heaven when he was taken there to observe everything what is happening on earth while he is in heaven.

It's I clear pastor bohr whom i love Who I learnt from so much over the years, when it comes to the coming of Christ as king of kings is lost.. the fact he don't think christ will return to the earth has limited him... Acts 2:29-30 Clearly show christ will return to earth and this is the kingdom he will recieve from the father spoken of in Daniel 7. ALSO acts 17:31 tell us because of the man he would judge the world by gave assurance that christ did raise from the dead as he would be the return christ

I, Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia, am here today to claim that justice which is due to my people, and the assistance promised to it eight months ago, when fifty nations asserted that aggression had been committed in violation of international treaties.

There is no precedent for a Head of State himself speaking in this assembly. But there is also no precedent for a people being victim of such injustice and being at present threatened by abandonment to its aggressor. I pray to Almighty God that He may spare nations the terrible sufferings that have just been inflicted on my people, and of which the chiefs who accompany me here have been the horrified witnesses.

It is my duty to inform the Governments assembled in Geneva, responsible as they are for the lives of millions of men, women and children, of the deadly peril which threatens them, by describing to them the fate which has been suffered by Ethiopia. It is not only upon warriors that the Italian Government has made war. It has above all attacked populations far removed from hostilities, in order to terrorize and exterminate them
