I think this is a healthy way to cope with the death of loved ones.

I just wanted to say that we don't quite celebrate Death, but the life our ancestors lived before us and the values they gaved us before they left instead. Also the deal with November 1st and 2th is that on November 1, is the day dedicated to our deceased childs and unborn babies called "Dia de Todos los Santos" or All saints Day, while november 2 "Day of the death" i'ts for our older dead loved ones. in both cases its about inviting them to come to our world to spent a day of the year with us, remembering the love and joy they gave to us in life. It's a beautiful holliday with a very special background

Not only in Latin America. Philippines is administered by Spain through Mexico. And the Hispanized Filipinos celebrate "Undas"/All-Saints/All-Souls Day, Nov 1-2.

Why the spaniard music? Mariachis do not play spaniard music and mexican women don't dance like sevillanas.

Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is sometimes referred to as Mexican Halloween.
Which is actually quite offensive to people familiar with Mexican Halloween as a sexual position.
