Overwatch 2 balance is literally making people quit the game! Cassidy's magnetic grenade is an absolute broken joke of an ability that causes so much rage players quit the game lol.

Hindered is such a massive joke. It's like the devs realized some characters were balanced around having CC in their kits, so they want to bring it back, but they also don't want to put stun back because it would look like they're slowly reverting back to OW1 and further make OW2 like a completely unnecessary waste of time.

I won't lie, I haven't touched the game since the announcement of PVE's cancellation and I couldn't feel happier about my decision after watching this video. I was a Day 1 player and reached Top 500 multiple times yet they somehow got me to quit and never look back. That is a true testament to just how far this game has fallen. Watching these videos is actually hilarious because I can just sit back and laugh; asking myself how I ever managed to put up with as much as I did in this game.

I have a suspect! They are using for the latest ability changes already coded Talent Tree modification cause they are unable to touch the game mechanics without breaking something. Brigitte ultimate rework is probably something that you can unlock in the abandoned talent tree, also this Cassidy granade seems to me a lot like an "improvement" above it's old grenade and they only adjust the number to make this ability "feel" balanced...even Mei hard slow and icycle explosion feels a lot like TALENT to improved her...

A cowboy does not need a sticky grenade. Let alone a seeking sticky grenade that slows. How about a lasso? A Molotov? Ya know something a cowboy would use.

This ability is literally what people hated about Brig stun but you can yeet it across the map on a 10sec cooldown. It's absurd.

I've always thought that instead of a grenade, a cowboy might use caltrops, which Cassidy could throw on the ground and hasten the movement speed of opponents whenever they walk over them. It would be similar to a blend of Hammond's mines and Ramattra's vortex, but easy to avoid if needed, and only kill those who are already almost dead.

Edit: Replace "hasten" with "hinder"

The worst part of it is that it just doesn’t feel like something Cassidy would use. Why would a cowboy have a magnetic grenade? Ashe has dynamite and that feels way more appropriate for her character

The nade now is so much more frustrating, all you really had to do against the old nade is respect it, either don't dive the Cass or dive him after he's used the nade. But now there's literally no option, he just yeets a genji or a ball or a doom, etc, from 30 meters plus and they just die cuz their sat in the open with nothing to help them. It's just not fun to play against.

Overwatch team has created a very interesting situation. They got rid of hard/soft cc which is designed to punish mobility. So with limited access to hard/soft cc mobility became a balance problem. So they’re now testing the waters by adding back cc into the game by giving Cassidy a slow and cripple and improving Mei’s slow. Should have done a PTS and adjusted the numbers but honestly adding back cc would have happened eventually. I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon, lol.

I spent 90% of my Overwatch content creation career complaining about game balance and how to fix it. I quit over a month ago. 7 Years of some of the worst decisions I've ever seen from a balance team.

Cassidy is the greatest example of them not really knowing what to do with many of their characters.
Ever since ow2 they wanted dps to have less cc but his intended purpose was to stop flankers, which requires cc (for him at least since his revolver is the worst at small targets).
They realized this when sticky ended up being a mess, however the way they changed it made it worse.
Honestly, they should change it back to a .2 sec stun, give it a long cooldown and call it a day.

I think they're purposely creating an issue to give them a "chance to fix it and be the good guys". I went to a game development school and one of the things they drilled into us was taking away player agency is the quickiet way to piss off your fan base. Like this design decision wasnt with the designers, it was exes trying to force a scenario where they're the good guys

Also, hinder to me feels more like an ultimate-based ability rather than a 8 second CD.
