Thanks so much for reuploading this man. Just rewatched this film for the first time in about 10 years and I *immediately* tracked this down because I remember loving this review.

For a commentary without a script, this turned out surprisingly well!

I was expecting this to be cringey and kinda bad considering it was your first vid, but I actually really laughed and enjoyed it. Good job!

For an improvised video, you sure nailed the "fight fight fight" bit.

I remember watching this years ago, and showing my friend. We watched it, laughed and enjoyed it, and checked out your channel expecting a bunch of video's.
But nope. it was the first one. Then we expressed salt over not getting more video's like this.
Time later when you uploaded more review video's, we made a point to meet up and watch all the reviews, laughing our asses off the whole way.
We were 13 at the time. The coolest pair of 13 year olds ever.

There were original versions of the script that had Kirk getting shot in the back by Soran which were actually shot but never made it to the final cut. Also Kirk was to take command of the battle bridge of the Enterprise and lead this into combat against the Klingons, thus dying on-board the Enterprise-D. There was a also a funeral scene for Kirk. In the scene, Spock was to be standing at the entrance of the church, hesitant to enter there (and therefore admitting to himself that his friend was really dead). It would have been awesome if Nicholas Meyer had written the script and Leonard Nimoy to direct but it never happened.

What really pisses me off about this movie is the following two things: 1) As you pointed out Confused Mathew Picard could have gone back to the reception on the ship and stopped Soren there, instead he chose to go back five seconds ago. That's just dumb. But what makes it truly disturbing is remembering that in the beginning of the movie Picard finds out his brother and nephew died in a fire. In fact the whole happy house illusion is because his brother and nephew died. So with a fresh reminder of their deaths in his face it never even occurs to him, wait I can go back in time save my brother and nephew and still have plenty of time to stop Soren. 2) But all tat aside the minor nit pick which pisses me off all around is this. After te Enterprise crash Picard an Riker are picking through the wreck of Picard's office. Picard picks up the freaking unique piece of ancient pottery given to him by Professor Galen, and Picard literally casually chucks aside and just keeps going. WTF! Those two details to me highligted just how lazy and slipshod this movie truly was.

To think this was a re-shot ending to the movie, I almost wish they stuck to the original one so this film got panned even more.

Are you going to reupload your hilarious Golden Compass review?

That movie was written so stupid on so many levels.
I can't even comprehend how anyone who has seen TNG before could actually sit through it without getting really, really annoyed. Everyone in this move acts so stupid and nonsensical it's almost funny (if you're not a Star Trek fan).
To me the only reason this movie exists, is that rick berman can get rid of the Enterprise -D. So all the dummies who don't get what Star Trek stories are about (like him) can get a much more generic and superficial ship design and more weapons to shoot with.

OMG, i sound like Mr. Plinkett.

Will you be able to bring back the review?

Why didn't Kirk and Picard get phasers before confronting Soren?

The whole point of this movie was to have Kirk and Picard on screen together. There was no premise, no story idea, nothing, that would have accomplished that goal while being logical, sensible, believable and critic-proof all at the same time (not to mention being an innovative, original idea Trekkers hadn't seen before). The notion of getting the two captains together was something fanboys had been clamoring about for years, practically since Picard first stepped out of the shadows in "Farpoint." In my opinion (and it's just an opinion), it was just as terrible an idea as putting Spock on the sixth floor of the Depository with a rifle in his Vulcan hands. The whole enterprise (pardon the pun) was doomed to fail. Trek's creative forces had to go through such ludicrous contortions to get them together that seeing them together turned out not to be worth it. Like Ian Malcolm said, they were so concerned with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they _should._
