Workshop: Simple Drill Press Table For Adorable Drill Press

Показать описание
The Bosch PDB40 is an adorable little drill press that comes with a less adorable little table. I've had the drill press for about two years, high time I make a proper little table for it with removable inserts, a fence, and better hold downs.

Whoops, this published a day early because I'm bad at dates. I'll be home to answer questions and comments tonight (10hr from now)

This is a great design. So light and small footprint. I will make this this week. Thanks mate!

I bought this drill press based partly on your review Paul. Very happy with it - does what I need. Been thinking about a table. My thoughts are answered. Thanks.

Yep, convinced me too. I'm going to buy one and get rid of the large Chinese built, belt driven bench drill I have at the moment.
Funnily enough, as a hobby woodworker, it was your comment about lightness and portability which clinched it for me and my very small shop.

Hi Paul, I did make this table over Easter. Slightly different hardware (what I had) and some sexy red T-track. Really happy with it. Thanks.

I’m late to the party with a comment but just wanted to say thanks Paul. I bought the Bosch PBD40 recently based on your previous review, and I’ve started building this drill press. Cheers mate! 👍

Love it. I recently bough the Aldi one for $167.00. Looks very similar. I'm going to definitely build this table for mine. Thanks for your great work.

Thank you for this very clear video. The guide bushing discussion at 3:48 was the best explanation I have seen.

I will build this plan of yours for mine.

I have found this Bosch Drill Press to be excellent. The Bosch kit seems to be thoughtfully designed and well built. I have the SDS Bosch Blue Battery hammer drill, which invariably impresses the trades who see me using it, and then they borrow it,

I've literally just bought this drill press. I think I might make one of these to upgrade it. Thanks for posting.

I recently got the same drill press, so I guess a table like that is the next step, great job

It's a few projects away yet but a little benchtop drill press is on the cards sometime this year I hope. I like the look of this one, I'll have to check out your review.

Nice one Paul.. I too bought a PDB 40 recently and this table looks like a "must have" accessory. Many thanks.

I almost skipped this video. I'm glad I didn't. It had some good tidbits in there.

Great work Paul. I also bought this drill press after seeing your video. I'll be building one of these too

What is the benefit of using an add-on plywood table on top of the native Bosch drill aluminum machined table? Plywood does not guarantee stable and precise geometric dimensions and will often show variations in order of tenths of mm. Besides humidity variations will introduce additional errors.

Very nice satisfying project :-) Well done.

Nice! I got that drill press also! It certainly needs an upgrade. Not sure how many times the built in fastening device got stuck. Thanks for uploading!

Bought this drill press and am just now planning my workbench build. This helped me realise I don't want the drill press to be on permanent display since I am a weekend DIYer so it'd be great to be able to store this. I haven't unpacked mine yet - can you tell me the dimensions of your drill press with the table you built in it's most compact form? I want to check if I can plan for it to be stored under my workbench. Thanks!

Great job on a much needed table, mate👍🏽
I'm not sure your chisel was big enough for the job though! 🤔😉😂😂😂
