Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 3 is the tablet that can replace your laptop, and wants us to test how well it works alongside the Lumia smartphone lineup. So, we've agreed to test it as part of the company's "One Experience" challenge and see if it offers as seamless an experience as they say.

The Surface Pro 3 features a chassis made almost entirely of metal, with its trademark angles and sharp corners, it's a great-looking PC. Its kickstand is incredibly versatile, thanks to having an almost limitless range of angles to work with, and it's stable too. It features a USB 3.0 port as well as a Mini Displayport I/O. There's a camera on the front, and the back, and it has a beautiful 12-inch QuadHD display with great color-popping qualities.

Are any of you planning on picking on of these up, instead of going for a "regular" tablet like an iPad or Android device?

I'll be honest, I was playing around with surface tablet at windows booth the mall and I got to say I'm really impressed by its performance and the user interface. I haven't bought one as yet but its got thinking I should get one. It really has a lot to offer. Especially if you want a tablet with a real laptop like experience.

Looks really awesome. Just the price, is a bit too high for most people.

After your review will you please update the OS to Windows 10 preview so we can get a sense of what that OS will look like on a laptop/tablet hybrid.
cheers

The audio in this video is kind of funny, it shifts to the right frequently throughout the video.

I know people say the i3 version wouldn't be best for a true laptop replacement, but for my needs it seems like it would be a good one. the only fault is the 64 gigs, but can't I use an sd card or an external hard drive to cover that? or should I really just save up for the i5? I hear the battery life is a little worse and heats up quicker than the i3. please help!

I bought the i3 version just yesterday for $600CAD. Great deal... I really like the device so far. The keyboard is still kind of awkward and needs getting used to.

Had first gen Surface Pro. Sold it after 3 months of use. The hardware is nice but the Windons 8 is very confusing with two UIs.

That being said, I'm still saving up to get one!! :)
