Good setup. That's how I have my FTM-400 installed. I use thru-glass antenna, which works fine. ;)

very cool TO! I use the lido cup holder for my ht's and QB25. Works great! I haven't had an issiue with my mag mounts leaking yet, but pull the antenna into the car when no in use. I have use it in the rain without moisture getting into the car. Peace!

For the mag mount, I cut up a flannelette shirt and cut out a round bit and place it between mount and paint.
Never scratched the paint, but after 5 or so years of use when removed it showed up the paint work had faded except where the mount was.

I do the same in my F250, - if I run the cable into the back of the back door the water does not come into the cab. I use avariety of radios with it. Right now a 25W 2M/70CM chinese radio. Some times I use HTs with it.

Don't laugh at me too hard, That's how I use my Baofeng UV-5R.I do need to get me one of those speaker mics though.
