I have a lot of respect for photographers they do fantastic work with cameras. I wish I could do a quarter of what you do I look at all the settings etc and say nope can’t do it

I chose my iPhone 15 Pro Max over my Sony A1! I sold all of my Sony gear, including the A1, A7rIV, and a dozen or so GM lenses such as the 16-35, 24-70, 70-200, 100-400, 200-600 G, and 600 GM. When I traveled, I used to carry 2-4 packs of gear. While my iPhone may not be as good, it is about 80% as capable, and I don't miss carrying it around. With 30 plus years of shooting experience, I can confidently say that the iPhone is the best "overall" camera I have ever owned, and it keeps getting better every single year. I still carry a drone, and most of my most satisfying shots come from it, mainly due to the unique perspective and composition not possible with any terrestrial-based camera at any price. A smartphone is a "Real" camera.😎🤙

As a novice photographer I went with the iPhone 15 pro max because low light is difficult to get it right. iPhone always comes out better in those low light or bright light shots.

Amazing how far phone cameras have come. Getting difficult to decide what to get. Especially if you are shooting on the go and in difficult environments (dust, rain etc).

enjoying the 15pro max 120mm lens in combination with the Blackmagic cam app and compressed log footage. Prores is still a no go for me. Great video as always!

The difference is obvious and huge when you look at that image on a 4K Display at your hand distance.

Got most right as I think the iPhone still needs a bit of work with the bokeh on on edges that should be in focus, but it's REALLY close. It amazing what computing power we can have in our pockets in the form of a phone.
I don't think it will ever surpass an 'actual' camera due to the scale and constraint of the optics but there is major truth that 'the best camera is the one you have with you.

This is the thing, why would you use both camera and try them to look the same. That is not the point, by doing that you are only limiting the camera.
Plus it is easy to spot the difference on a pc. But to be fair it is more difficult in a 6 inch screen.

I dont think it will take over the mirrorless camera, but I think more people will get more into photography and filming, that probably would not if they didnt have this opportunity ... And maybe the mirrorless camera manufacturers will take some inspiration from phones and put into mirrorless cameras...? maybe... 🤔 But man the iPhones has gotten far though, with the quality! I was wrong a couple of times 😅

I got right NONE. Really impressed. And by the way, watching the iPhone 5 and iPhone 15 Pro Max footage together makes me think, should we change iPhones every year because of their new camera features? Maybe not.

I failed only on the interior car chair photo. The smaller sensor look and the background blur ALMOST always give it away. But thats only on the eye of us photographers. Most people wont notice the difference and they dont care. That being said, in low light or any proffesional situation the phone will never match a camera and i hope people understand that :)

I think someone said something like “ the best camera you have is the one you have with you”. I think I can agree to this, there are several good shots I have missed because I have been to lazy to bring my big system camera. With a good phone camera you can now take those shots

nah, you can easily tell which is which due to the fake depth of field.

larger sensors will always be better, and as long as I am a filmmaker I will stand with cameras

I have a Ricoh GR III, an old camera per say. It still takes better pictures than all my phones including 15 pro.

HDR video really makes skin washed out and fake.

I got every single photo right. Bokeh looks weird, color gradients look weird, on some shots the DOF just doesn't make any sense. On the Sony it just looks natural.

There is a reason they don't run around with mobile phones in serious production of photography, that alone should give you the answer of this video 😝 Phones will never replace big sensors and professional lenses, they just can't.

Glad I finally purchased an iPhone (15 Pro). The image quality is superb considering its sensor size. It's almost at par with my mirrorless cams in some situations. Although one can't beat physics of a large sensor dedicated camera, it's a testament to Apple's computational smarts on its camera system. It is that good.
