LM741 and LM723 are blasts from the past for sure! Clearly for some older gear repairs. Some gear was tuned in to a specific grade of Op-Amp back in the day. Sometimes it was performance other times just cost. Why design in a better spec'ed OP07 when an LM741 will do the job?

I haven’t used the LM741 in a very long time. Do you use them as a general purpose part or do you need those for a specific property they have?
I noticed I have a bunch of those in my collection of stuff from a couple of decades ago. I might dig them out and build something one of these days.
