An important thing to grasp in singing the Psalms is that these are the songs of Christ (Ps 22:22 and Hebrews 2:12). He sings them in the congregation and if the congregation is not singing his inspired word…?

They’re the prayers and praises our Lord sang in his incarnation; they speak of him, and his church in singing them with him is participating in the fellowship of his sufferings and in his glorious victory.
