Certain styles look as good as both eyeglasses and sunglasses, these are your best options for photochromic lenses.
Some styles for photochromic lenses

Wraparound - wraparound glasses tend to have a safety glasses vibe when the lenses are clear, but they can be the coolest. I know safety glasses aren't known for being cool, but still, they can be cool and besides, they're definitely far cooler than going blind due to eye injury!

Wayfareresque - Glasses frames based on the Ray-Ban Wayfarer models are definitely part of geek chic fashion with clear lenses, and rock star style with tinted lenses

Aviator/pilot/navigator - Caution should be exercised when choosing aviator glasses, as getting it wrong can end up making you look like a chomo, especially the plastic aviators that are frequently issued to inmates in US state prisons. Best to stick with metal aviator glasses that give a slightly 1980s vibe.

Clubmaster - Clubmaster style glasses look as good with clear lenses and tinted lenses.

Harry Potter/John Lennon - Unless these glasses are fairly large, they're not practical as sunglasses, thus such frames are better suited for a light permanent tint, especially a loud pretty color such as pink, yellow, lime green, etc.

Small rectangular frames - Your garden-variety thin metal frames with small lenses are terrible as sunglasses and thus aren't suitable for photochromic lenses.
