Samsung DeX: Useful Tips You Should Know!

Samsung DeX is a seriously cool concept, but I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not a desktop or laptop replacement, for me at least. With that being said, portable displays have recently sparked my interest in DeX again. Having used DeX a lot more lately, these are some essential tips that I think everyone should know about, for a better DeX experience.

To enable developer options:
Open settings > scroll down to About Samsung DeX > Tap Samsung DeX 5 times quickly > Turn Developer Options ON.

I use Dex most of the time. It has replaced a desktop for most of what I do. I use an iPad Pro for my video editing, but the PowerDirector on Dex can do the job for most people. Just a little lag was all I experienced. I’ve showed quite a few people Dex and some have given up their computers. Dex works best with a lot of RAM though

Hey just a tip, you can log in into your Youtube account on your cellphone (mobile version of the desktop) and then when you turn on youtube on Dex, it'll be logged in

Just started using it. It's great! Only big draw back right now is if you plug it into a monitor you have to have a bluetooth keyboard/mouse.

Thank you for being one of only a handful to mention enabling Developer Mode. It makes SeX function as it should've from the get-go.

Worth noting that OneUI 2.1 has brought window snapping so dragging a window to the left or right edge of the screen will dock it on that half accordingly, the same as meta+arrow key.

100% agreed on Samsung Internet as the best desktop experience for browsing in DeX. Regarding the issue of opening in app, clear the default apps and you'll get the option to open links in browser rather than in another app.

As for your mention of not being able to sign into your Google account, that's simply not true. I'm not sure what your issue was, but that's not normal behavior. I use web Gmail and YouTube regularly with my Google account in Samsung Internet.

I'll be starting to make videos of my own in the near future. I've picked up a very basic setup to run dex. I even picked up a monitor that was being thrown out for an office upgrade to display it, along with a USB keyboard and mouse (I'll go bluetooth if I find its worth spending more money)

I struggled to be productive at home sitting on my bed or on the sofa, and I cannot use a company aptop for personal use. So a desk and a home dex setup will make my life a heck of a lot easier.

You saved me! I replaced my broken PC with a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (the most advanced thing I do is YouTube) and there was no J or K pressing to skip around in videos in neither Chrome nor the YouTube app! Switched to the Samsung Browser and everything is like on a computer. Thanks!

Great video however you can use Samsung internet with your Google accounts! I use it with all my accounts. I think you may have add blockers installed which will no longer give you access unless you disable them.
