- Samsung DeX is a software platform that is built in to many of the latest Samsung smartphones and tablets.
- To use Samsung DeX, you will need:
• An HDMI adaptor, DeX cable or multiport adaptor
• A display with an HDMI input
• A mouse and keyboard (preferably Bluetooth)
• A DeX-capable smartphone or tablet
- First, connect your mobile device to your display using the HDMI adaptor, DeX cable or multiport adaptor. DeX will launch automatically.
- Next, connect your mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth in your settings menu. If you’d prefer, you can use a USB keyboard and mouse with a multiport adaptor.
- Once you’ve got your mouse and keyboard connected, you can enjoy an intuitive desktop experience in DeX.

They say Apple is good at innovation, this is innovation, you can litteraly have a desk top pc which feels like windows just by having a phone and a Samsung moniter I'm so happy I have a Samsung phone THANK YOU SAMSUNG FOR MAKING DEX

This is so badass. I'm having so much fun using this. Remember there are knock-off brands for this so don't feel like you have to spend $40 cable, $95 dock station or have to buy a new phone.

A company needs to make a phone like this. When you plug your phone into an external monitor, Chrome OS opens up. Just think of a Google Pixel with stock Android, then stock Chrome OS when you plug it into a monitor.

I use dex almost all the time and I was wondering when is dex going to be able to download programs and run software plus use camera via USB. I know dex is very capable of doing these features with out it itsholding dex back to be a true laptop replacement.

Dex has pretty much replaced my computer. The pc is only used for games at this point.
