In case anyone else was wondering... the white powdery stuff on the outside of the persimmon is sugar crystals that form on the outside during the drying process, and apparently it's how to know that the drying process is near completion.

I absolutely love persimmons! My mamaw makes the best persimmon pudding ever! We used to have a persimmon tree in our lawn where I grew up. I have since moved to another state and boy do I miss it!

Having the dried fruit in these gigantic styrofoam packets is so nuts to me 🥲
I mean, couldn’t they just pack it in small baggies, like candy bags? Why 😂

Anywho, they look so interesting! I don’t know if we have that kind of persimmons here in Italy, but I doubt it. And I never came across any of them dried. I imagine them really sweet almost like the dried figs, rather than sweet and sour like the dried apricots.

Perssimons are really yummy.. it tastes amazing when ripe .... Just taste like fruit pudding ... My Grandma grows them in her orchards in India... Super tasty 😋😋

I grew up eating these as a special treat. I love them so much. Both dried and fresh Persimmons are the best, I love eating them when they are in season and eating the dried ones when I buy them in Chinatown! Such great memories for me.

My niece's grandmother makes these for everyone including me she grows Japanese Style Persimmons there super sweet and very delicious 😋

Never saw a persimmon until I travelled here to the republic of Georgia. I've been here during the season and everyone has persimmon trees in their yard, and I've seen these in markets everywhere. I thought it was a date, I got really excited now that I can see it's a persimmon.

Ooh it’s surprising how this dried perssimon is enjoyed globally!!
Our family enjoys dried and rolled perssimon with some walnut and pine nut in it. When cut, it has pretty pattern✨
It’s super delicious and easy to store if you keep it in the freezer. I want it now!!
