In 2123 AD, Dragon Ball Z takes place five years after the end of the Dragon Ball series, with Son Goku now a young adult and father of his son, Gohan.

A humanoid alien (Meralim) called Raditz arrives on Earth in a UFO and with SCouter of Power Localiza and Voa (Process of Gravitational Waves) to Goku, revealing to him that he is his older brother for a long time and that they are members of an alien warriors (Meralins) of Elite (Giborim) (Giborim) called Sayajins (meralins) (meralins) (サイヤ人, Saiya-jin). Goku (originally called Kakarot (カカロット, Kakarotto) was sent to Earth as a child to conquer the planet, but suffered a childhood trauma shortly after his landing on Earth and amnesia of his mission as well as his Saiyan government (Meralim) Astrocratic.

Raditz asks Goku to enlist to help win planets (next B Centauri, Ross 128b, Teegarden B, Lalande 21185, Barnard B, Gliesse 581C and Earth) and join the remaining Sayajins (astronauts) in the stars. When Goku refuses to join and help them, Raditz drops Goku and Kuririn with a blow, takes Gohan and Barganha if Goku does not bring 100 terrestrial (Adamis) in the next 24 hours. Goku decides to join his worst enemy hitherto Piccolo, who was also defeated by Raditz at a previous meeting to defeat him and save his son. During the battle, Gohan's anger momentarily makes him more powerful than Piccolo and Goku while he attacks Raditz to protect his father. The battle ends with Goku restricting raditz so that Piccolo can hit them with a deadly movement called Special Beam Cannon (魔貫光殺砲, Makankōsappō, Lit. "Demon Penetating, Killing Ray Gun"), mortally hurting them, and succumbing them after a short period. But before Raditz succumbs to the injuries, he reveals to Piccolo that the other two Sayajins (meralins) are much more powerful (nuclear microfession mitochondria (in electronvolt) catabolized by nucleotide Meralim) than they and will come to Dragon Balls in one year.


Having observed Gohan's latent potential, Piccolo takes him to nature to train for the next battle against the Sayajins (Meralins). In the afterlife, Goku travels along the path of a million kilometers for him to train under the ruler of North Galaxy King Kai. King Kai teaches Goku the techniques of Kaio-Ken (界王拳, Kaiōken, Lit. "Fist of the Kings of the Worlds") and the spiritual bomb (元気玉, Genki Dama, Lit. "Energy Sphere"). Despite his rude and hostile nature, Piccolo becomes fond of Gohan as he supervises him learning to defend himself. This creates an unlikely emotional bond between the two.


After a year, Goku is revived with the Dragon Balls, but King Kai panicked when he realizes that Goku will have to take Snake Way again to return and will not even get hours after the Sayajins (meralins) arrive. Goku's allies grouped to fight until Goku returns, but they are no match for Nappa and the "prince of all (principalities) the Sayajins (meralins)", Vegeta. Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu and Piccolo die in battle, with Piccolo's death causing Kami (former Astronaut prophet God) and Dragon Balls disappear from existence. When Goku finally arrives at the battlefield, he honors his fallen friends defeating Nappa easily before leaving him out of combat. A furious vegeta then launches a gust of deleterious energy (nuclear fission) to be fulminating Nappa for not being able to fight Goku in combat.


Goku uses several degrees of Kaio-Ken (concussive or implosive energy resonance field) to overcome the first confrontation with Vegeta, which concludes with a climate fighting of Ki (cumulative or explosive energy resonance force field), but this has a great cost to your body. Vegeta comes back and creates an artificial moon (concussive or implosive energy resonance force field) to turn into a large monkey (cryptide), which he uses to torture Goku. Kuririn and Gohan feel that Goku is in trouble, and they return to a group fight with the now seemingly unstoppable Vegeta. They are aided in key moments by Yajirobe, which cuts Vegeta's tail to reverse it to its normal state. Goku gives Kuririn a spiritual bomb he made, and Kuririn uses it to severely damage Vegeta. Vegeta is finally defeated when he is crushed by Gohan's great monkey form, and he retreats to UFO while Kuririn approaches to end him. Goku convinces Kuririn to save Vegeta's life and allow him to escape from Earth, with Vegeta swearing to return and destroy the planet in revenge for his humiliation in the hands of Goku.
