I'm astonished that 'GenZ' (whoever that is) calls this story false. First, BOTH my parents spoke of her US tour of schools (Dad in HS; Mom in Elementary). There with Ms Sullivan. Also, my Mom had Scarlet Fever around age 10, & was "paralyzed' for almost 2 years (she called it St Vitus Dance). SHE recovered somewhat miraculously as well. (She birthed me, anyway).
