The Foundations Experience at HGSE

The four required Foundations courses — How People Learn; Leading Change; Evidence; and Equity and Opportunity — provide Ed.M. students with the core skills central to the profession of education. Through our Foundations, students build knowledge in critical areas in education, insights from developmental self-work, and interpersonal skills that will help them communicate, collaborate, and engage in dialogue with fellow cohort members who bring different backgrounds and perspectives to HGSE. Students build on these courses as they progress toward earning a master's degree and enter the field ready to make an impact.
