It is a process of laser alloying aluminum alloy with magnesium AlMg5 with nickel powder. The purpose of the observation was to analyze the formation of the liquid tongue and layer during the process. The heat source was a fiber laser with a maximum power of 4kW and a wavelength of 1070nm. spot diameter of 3 mm. The scanning speed of the laser beam was 0.2 m/min. In order to protect the liquid pool from the impact of air, Ar shielding gas was used with a flow rate of 4 l/min.
