This trailer is an avalanche but on the other hand it doesn't spoil the whole movie. I couldn't tell that Tim Burton returned to direct but I'll stay hopeful because of that.

I can't wait to see this. Seeing the original 3 (Keaton, Ryder, and O'Hara) back together for a new story will be extraordinary and entertaining.

The ending with everyone taking out their phones and subsequently being sucked into them is both hilarious and quasi realistic with the amount of selfies everyone takes. They will end up in their phones at one point.

I'd almost forgotten how it felt to be genuinely hyped for a sequel. And the best part... This one WORKS perfectly well with how long it's been since the original. Plus, you don't need the full original cast to continue the franchise. Understandably, Adam & Barbara wouldn't have stayed in the Deetz house. Their story was done and wrapped up beautifully in 1988.

Their unfinished business with the living world was concluded. And, as much as they loved Lydia, they knew she'd be okay without them. Lydia wouldn't have expected them to haunt her family forever anyway. Hence, they passed on to their eternal rest together. Now that her daughter's in danger, the adult Lydia must step up and save her family herself.

I also LOVE the premise of her allying with Beetlejuice as a necessary evil (most likely because he's the only spirit she has access to who can navigate her through the afterlife to find Astrid). I suspect that Astrid was lured or taken there by the antagonist, possibly a new villainous ghost or human abusing the handbook (maybe Willem Dafoe's character).

With no one else to turn to, Lydia will treat Beetlejuice with "enemy of my enemy" logic, much like Thor did with Loki in The Dark World. It's the closest we've seen to the films channeling their relationship from the Beetlejuice cartoon.

IDK what to expect from this. The story seemed complete, so this just feels like a nostalgia trip to me.

I love how Beetlejuice's nervous tick is on point like in the first movie. Notice how he jumps around 1:30 when the message comes down. Little things like that is what adds authenticity to the character being life like.
