This goes to show that not rehearsing a speech will dramatically impact your ability to deliver. If you're ever in a situation where you have a technical difficulty, here's what I would do to gracefully handle the situation.

I work in AV, what Vinh is suggesting is 100% the best way. We will NEVER interrupt an event unless it is literally impossible to continue.

So if there’s an AV problem that you can’t work around on stage, you owning it and giving us a window to fix it is exactly what needs to happen.

1 big moment of awkward is better than an entire presentation being 50% off because you’re trying to give us subtle hand signals or whatever.

I was MB’s close protection for a few years. This clip is by far the nicest I’ve ever seen him talk to someone… When he was directing transformers the last knight in the U.K. one of the AD”s was running into set with a chair. MB lost his mind and was screaming and shouting at this guy, “get that chair off my set!” The AD insisted it was infact for MB mother. To which he responded… “she can stand!”

I think for someone in his position he can’t just put himself in such a weak stage presence as anything he says would affect the company stocks.
