Extreme heat becoming the usual for summer in Western Canada

The potentially dangerous heatwave in Western Canada is only going to get worse in the coming days with Environment Canada issuing more warnings on Sunday evening.

And with heat there is often fire.

I have lived in the south Okanagan since 1973. The summers in the 70's were a lot warmer then. It never rained for the whole summer. The warm wheather started in May and ended in mid October. It is just starting to get hot now. We had a wet cold spring.

We just started getting summer like weather in Edmonton this weekend....Up until now, its been chilly and always get a week or two of hot weather in the summer, it cools off, fall lasts a couple weeks, then its right into that way for the 43yrs I've spent here...( Some of those years were far warmer, for a longer time, as well.)

Warm temperatures in summer has always been the norm, it's not becoming the norm. It's about time it warmed up as we haven't had warm weather this year yet. Just last week we had the high of 18 and low of 6. Shove your climate change up your rear and call them seasons again.

1. The government needs to focus on reducing insurance costs for cars and homes, and property taxes should be cut by 50%. Also, cities and towns should stop wasting money on unnecessary projects, and Canadian contractors shouldn't be charging double for the same projects as those in the states.
