When I was a kid, my brother and I were playing in my mom's medical office when we tipped over an old school blood pressure device and all the mercury spilled out. We played with it for a good 15 minutes before my mom found us. The hazmat crew had to come clean it up. That scared the shit out of us, but my mom told us when she was a kid her dentist used to have mercury for kids to shine pennies with in his waiting room. That slightly alleviated my fear of immediate death.
