I fish inshore salt water, mainly rock and beach locations in the uk and been doing it now for over 40 years, mainly spinning for sea bass, pollock and mackerel. Agree 100% with the comments in your video, spot on 👌👌

Taking a paddle tail, a top water, and a suspending bait with you, and you will have the correct bait for almost any situation. Thanks for the insights fellas!

I tied on a 3/4 oz johnson splite about three years ago, i use it religiously, i capton the boat and let my friends cast there butts off, and i selectively throw to spots occasionally and end up with a better fish creel ..its all because of my confidence in my lure, recognition of a spot, and all that practice i had on that spoon ..THE

Very practical helpful video guys. I like the point about specializing. The more lures I have is the more confused I am about planning my trip and less fish. You simply buy more and get less. Keep up the good work guys.

Great information guys! I personally keep a notebook when I fish. Tide, moon phase, water temp etc.. Again, solid information 🔥

i like that idea of exploring new areas Luke. i do use maps (thank you Salt Strong) for this myself, grab my bicycle then i find trails that go to these areas (St Petersburg is a perfect place to start this) and i have found many spots i am looking forward to revisiting without my bicycle and with my TFO inshore and some slam shady paddletail 2.0's for the win :)

I just happened to catch this episode and I'm happy that I did. On the subject of Wade fishing, I live in Indialantic Florida which puts me right in between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River. As we all know the Indian River is a fishing destination for those in search of Munster reds and trout as well as flounder Sheepshead and Snook. 90% of the time I wade fish. I constantly see boats with fishermen casting in towards the shore, well guess what? I'm already here LOL boats are great don't get me wrong, I just don't think I was made to own one. I can literally go out my door and have a line in the water in about 15 minutes, and when I'm done fishing I take the rod and reel put it back in my car and I'm done. As I'm sure you guys know most of the year you can Wade with just an old pair of tennis shoes in Florida. I have actually considered getting a kayak, but there are so many points of access to the river and great fishing spots under the causeways, many with walkways that I can basically fish anywhere I want on foot. Once again I'm not beating up on boats, they allow you access to numerous points in a short span of time, and in many cases allow you to get to places that you cannot get to on foot, but for me Wade fishing works just fine and it's a decent way to stay relatively cool when it's a hundred degrees out in August. Besides that all the money I would have spent on a boat, gas insurance Etc has allowed me to buy myself some really nice rods and reels. As far as keeping the load light and being specifically honed in on a couple of methods, I mainly use top Waters and paddle tails... Thanks for all that you guys do I've learned quite a bit from you videos

Diamond Pat in Texas?? Hope I got the name right? I was raised and fished the Corpus Christi area most of my life! Go Ray Texan's!!! I have two Padre Island Dont's!! #1 Texans, don't fish without a license!! Support sustainability so your kids can fish in the future. Second, don't buy your live bait from Red Dot, catch your own shrimp and croaker the day before or early in the morning at Packery Channel or any grassy area and Learn how to use a cast net or use a seine net for live shrimp. Fisherman at Padre Island, dont throw the big Whiting back, they are so delicious!!!

I tie on for everything except topwater and popping corks. The snap swivel IMO acts as more chatter and sound. We should do an experiment. Topwater w snap swivels vs loopknot. Popping cork with snap swivel vs Uni or FG

Hi guys, I'm a new member in this family and I just can't believe how much I was missing out in the past years of my fishing. I'm new in Wilmington NC area and I'm trying find myself here. Right now I'm a land base angler and my major problem is to find good access points. I know I have to reach to the local Salt Strong community for help in this matter.
I have one question regarding setting drag, how do you guys set your reel drag when fishing with 10 or 15 lb lines? Do you test your drag settings before each trip?

@saltstrong I plan to pick 2 lures an fish only those 2 lures 3 months each. I fish from mid June til late October to develop my skill on a square bill an a jerk bait if I get bites or no bites I'll just use the max of 3 casts per spot. One cast to right then left then straight. Alternate where I cast 1st each time I move. Vary my pauses an retrieves to present artificial lures an soft plastics as realistic as possible.
