Soft selecting is underrated in Maya. Great for creating blendshapes and is half baked in Blender by comparison.

This one i know and use it quite often ;) Setting the range of interaction becomes a bit tricky sometimes but i find it quite usefull. But it will be very helpful for those who need it but do not know about it.

I have a major question. I graduated and still had the student version of maya. My student version expired and I really want to work on my portfolio but I don't have the money to pay for maya at the moment. Are there any other methods on getting maya for free to work on for private work?
