What is your biggest storytelling problem?

2 minutes in and I already love it. I don't know why I never thought about the difference between shot and scene before myself.

Yes, this is real content for filmmakers, thank you!!!
This kind of tutorials are so much more important than seeing gear reviews or YouTube studio builds.
I look forward to seeing more content like this!

The shot vs scene concept is so simple yet so powerful!

Thanks - love the shot vs scene idea. I'm really struggling to even know where to start when picking up the camera, with so much focus on gimbal moves, cinematic blah blah blah, when it's really about how to start telling a story. This idea really helps, and the reactions shots idea is also priceless.

One of the best editing tutorials I’ve seen on YouTube.

This video was an eye opener for me. Finally a understandable of what a scene is versus a shot. As a photographer I can finally relate. Thanks

Some time you don't need to tell a story, other it will tell by itself like the one you did last week about your trip to this hotel. However most of the time just enjoy the travel videos for whatever it is. See the fpv videos, it's just amazing views with cool music and great editing. Regardless good to see you busy making new videos while you are in your quarantine.

Youtube would be an even greater platform if more creators would focus on stuff like this instead of gear tests and comparisons. Thanks a million for this video! Going on a one week off-road motorcycle trip tomorrow and want to shoot my first video in 4 years to reactivate my channel. Will try to implement as much as I can from what you said.

That was awesome Brandon. I’m going to use these ideas when shooting my guitar lesson videos.

I don't know how this video got past me but I just saw it. I've been following your work for years and have purchased your gimbal masterclass but this is the video I have gotten the most from. Thank you! I can't wait for things to go back to normal so I can see your art as it is meant to be. It breaks my heart to see your work be paused while you are at the top of your game. Love and respect. Thank you for being you.

really useful lesson on what I would term as the essentials of a video narrative and not just the cliche theory but the essence of it. Thank you Brandon!

I decided to dedicate our first long lockdown to workshops, so I took many.
The Unscripted Film School was way long the best educational content I ever attend.
It modified totally my vision about filmmaking and the Storytelling Area was a real jewel.
Brandon is great filmmaker, but if possible even a greater teacher!
Go for it, you will never regret.

This is so helpful for me. Thanks so much Brandon. My biggest challenge is to really shape how and what direction my Channel is going to be. Especially I have not decided my niche/topic, so every content is little different and I also wanna do more cinematography and better filming as well instead of just doing sit down studio talk recently. Appreciate it!!

This has to be one of the clearest lessons I've watched that really made the concept easier to understand while keeping it interesting and concise. Definitely applying this to my next shoot (whenever that is haha) as I've definitely felt that a lot is missing from the videos I make. Thanks so much Brandon!!

When I first started watching this, I was thinking "yeah, derr" this is standard and obvious but then I kept watching and it's such a great, simple and effective framework. I ended up watching it a couple of times to really sink it in! Thank you.

Very helpful video Brandon! It is true that many of us, coming from photography, often focus on very beautiful images which, however, are not enough on their own to tell a story when making films
