KARCHER Pressure washer NOT WORKING ? - How to quickly and easily fix a KARCHER K2 K4 or KARCHER K5 K6 pressure washer that WILL NOT TURN ON. PLEASE watch this video before GIVING UP on your Karcher K2 K4 or K5 K6 jet wash. Don't assume that the Karcher K2 K4 or K5 K6 premium pressure washer is broken because it will not turn on. It is a fairly common fault that is caused by trapped air in the system. When air is trapped, the machine will not turn on because it is fitted with a safety switch that will not allow the motor to run when air is in the system.

This problem is usually easily rectified by simply bleeding the system to get rid of any trapped air.

In this video I show how quick and easy this is to do, and I am fairly confident that this will FIX the issue.

I ended up buying a new Karcher pressure washer because I assumed that my Karcher K5 premium pressure washer was broken as it would not switch on. I changed the fuse in the plug, swore at it, hit it with a hammer and it still did not work !
I could not bare to throw it out as it was only just over a year old and I vowed to take a look at it once I had time. Finally I had some time to research the issue and found this information on the internet. It worked a treat and I thought that I would share it in the hope that the information provided helps some other Karcher pressure washer owners out there who are experiencing similar problems !

I have had it confirmed that this also works for the Karcher K2 and K4 pressure washers as well as the Karcher K5 pressure washer.

It's great that you can share your experiences with the Karcher! A real credit for helping many people. Unfortunately, there are many variations of the Karcher - over the years, and they all seem to display many different symptoms - when in a 'failure mode". I own a HD 575S. It's an old machine from 1990. There is no fancy Pressure Piston & Microswitch for the "Instant start" function. The pump on this model, has twin valves (17mm A/F) on top of the high Pressure Casting. On the side of this Casting is a smaller (14mm A/F) Inspection Plug. My machine has the symptoms of not shooting high pressure water (intermittently) as you pull the Trigger. Sometimes when you squeeze the Trigger - it works fine. I stripped and cleaned all parts of the Karcher today, and everything (including the springs & valves of the Twin Valves) looked perfect. So, (now) I am suspecting the Trigger Mechanism of the Lance. I suppose many people will have a Karcher that has very niggly problems. My Karcher goes way back to the 1990s. It's not dead yet! I will find the cure. Greetings from Australia.

Absolutely brilliant, thank you. Ran water on the K2 for a couple of mins, reconnected and karcher working as expected. It was a challenge for me to remove the hose from the main lance because so much pressure had built it. Quite the bang once I prized off the yellow clip just just take care when doing this bit. Gr8 video, I actually chucked me Karcher out on the Kurb for the local Council cleanup then started wondering if it had a fuse, googled it and found this video, went out at 3am brang it back in, done as per instructions informed and butter Bing she worked. Even after I’d cut the power cable, re-wired it plug her in putt, putt, putt, putt idles works

Must have some pressure sensor in either base of hose sprayer or inside machine itself, resetting that sensor works a treat.
DO NOT THROW OUT PRESSURE WASHERS TILL TRIED THIS..
