Syrian rebels returned to the major northern city of Aleppo after nearly a decade away as part of a sweep which experts believe could eventually lead them to target the capital Damascus.

In Syria's case, government/leader is the oppressor/dictator for years that killed many civilians in years and forced many to relocate, so "Rebel" is the correct definition here.

It is so complicated to understand. People say that civilians hate Assad's regime thus stand with rebels while others say that rebels are terr^rist and they are backed by Israel US and Nato alsoTurkey
