I’m a straight male, never played with Barbie, but I’m more excited for Barbie because it reminds me of the James Gunn Scooby doo movies and I’m all for it, those movies were fun for kids but ultimately they were for the original/older fans of the show that grew up, it had adult jokes, it was satire, it almost felt like a parody of Scooby doo and I love every second of it and the Barbie movie feels like it’ll be more of that

There really wasn't much beef. Well there are some, I ate a steak in between two films. In any case, cinephiles went to our nearest Cinema which was at a mall. Went to see Oppenheimer first, had lunch, and went to Barbie with caramel popcorn and rosé in hand. It was a good day for me. There weren't a lot of kids in the Barbie premier. Although, I did pay a premium because kids weren't allowed in the Director's Club area of the theatre. The free popcorn was a nice surprise.

Lets be honest the barbie movie will outsell Oppenheimer by a landslide as more and more families will go especially with thier female kids, even adults who like barbie would also go . In terms of popularity barbie wins again as thier has be more marketing for it where as Oppenheimer didnt get much . Besides barbie has been one of the most popular and influential brands for a long time and is only gaining in popularity every year .
