Thanks Steve for another useful video. I updated from a Reverb G2 because it broke. I’m just so impressed with the improved experience with the Q3. Agree with you about the lenses. I’m blown away with the clarity over the whole of the FOV. In the past I’ve owned a Rift, a Quest 2 and Reverb G2 and the Quest 3 is a significant improvement over all of them.

Thank you for validating my choice of going with a Quest 3. As you say it’s versatile. I keep fit with cardio exercises, watch 360 movies and off course flying VR MSFS 2020. My RTX 4070 ti is giving me a decent experience - am quite happy with the 30+ FPS. it. I use a Kiwi after market head strap which is so much more comfortable than the original strap.

I recently upgraded from my G2 to a Quest 3, was a it of a ball ache getting wireless and wired connections set up and dialled in. But the difference is profound. I'm sure more expensive give a better image, but at no time in my Quest 3 do wish I had a better image.

Not to mention all the benefits of it being a stand alone gives, great piece of kit. The price is not the price though, by the time you add power packs, head straps, controller straps, a dedicated router, link cable, even with that, it's still excellent value.

I have the Quest3 and two things that make it really great is the price and the lens, spending 2k on a high-end VR does really make sense right now in the coming years this tech will get cheaper and better and cheaper, I do want the H3 rig you have!!

I agree with you. I almost bought the G2 and something told me not to, and I really didn't want to spend 1K+ USD, but I had to upgrade from the Rift S. Literally the only con, like you mention, is the comfort and need for aftermarket headstrap. But get a BoboVR strap and battery and boom, you are set!

A video with config of ODT, OTT and FS20 for FS20 RTX 4080 would be awesome!

I agree, QUEST 3 is awesome for all the reasons you mentioned. Having a RTX 4090 doesnt hurt either.

100% agree. The Quest 3 has incredible value for money and I couldn't believe the difference that the pancake lenses make. I couldn't bear the G2, probably because of my astigmatism, but the Q3 is amazing. With MSFS, the 4090 is a must, though, sadly. The immersion is fantastic - that Cessna 172 really feels cramped!

I bought a Pimax and I returned it because of many reasons. I then bought the Quest 3 and I ended up returning it as well. Despite the fact that the overall sharpness is better than in the Reverb G2, I felt that the center sharpness in the Reverb was much better than the Quest 3 . For me at least, the center sharpness is much more important than the overall sharpness since everything is sharp where I look when I just turn my head.

I have quest 2 and 3 and also the G2, I now favour the quest 3.... like you say, easy to use, light on the face and visual quality is up there!

The quest 3 + 4090/7800x3d is amazing. Dialed everything in to run 72 fps without reprojection and is such a game changer. Tried 60 fps with the g2 but the flicker made it unusable. I am so happy with the result that I am completely done considdering the higher end options. I did not expect that outcome at all.

I have to agree. I didn't have the Quest 3 on my list for a long time. When my Reverb G2 broke and I looked for an alternative, I came to Pimax Crytall and alike. But gladly someone recommended the much cheaper and versatile Quest 3 to me. I tried it and I am amazed, how good it works on Flight Sims for me!

with some tweaks you get an absolutely brilliant clarity with the q3, love this headset! i was a display port fan since day one, and i never thought that im saying this anytime, but its so good wireless! fits perfect with my new ryzen 7800x3d and the 4080 super! everyday a new beatiful experience with this beauty 😁

I've recently bought a quest 3 since my reverb g2 has broken the cable. I've used it to watch youtube videos in AR xxl screen, chat in whatsapp, navigate the internet and play pcvr with a link cable. But not tried flight sims yet 😅 It's not that better vs my old g2, but it's a lot more versatile. It's like having more devices in one. It's also quite confortable with glasses (but I've ordered prescription inserts anyway).

I absolutely love the Quest 3 and I am glad that I could buy it when it was released, as my G2 cable was broken as happened to many of us. HP is definitely the best recruiter of the Quest 3 😂

Oh man, when I praised the Q3 when it first came out you gave me a little bit of a hard time. I'm glad you've come around and realized what a great piece of hardware it actually is. And it will only get better with updates just like the Q2 did. Which is also still a pretty good headset for the price. Keep up the good work as always. Cheers!

I have just purchased everything from the gaming computer/monitor, chair, desk, and controllers. I purchased microsoft flight simulator on Steam. Now this month in the process of buying the honeycomb yoke and throttle, and pedals.

My final purchase will be VR heads. The Q3 is in my budget. After your review, I feel it's the best all around option.

I think I will keep my Reverb G2 a year or so more, and see what else there will be next year. I just wish I could find a place where I can try the headset before I decide to buy it, because I am afraid I will be disappointed I spent so much money on a headset which might not be a huge improvement over what I currently have.

1. Can you read the cockpit instruments with clarity on the Quest 3?
2.Also if you tilt your head forward as an example would that move your head closer to the instruments as if you were leaning to look at them in real life?

I am still weighing up to get a quest 3 now, or waiting for a native PCVR headset to come out with comparable lenses. The main thing putting me off is that it's standalone with PCVR taped on, at least how I feel with my current Quest 2. I have no interest in the standalone usage
