Just watched your video, I agree. Got a set of slicks for my 65 fastback along with a set of street tires for a built small block. Looking forward to using them.

I think your experience of nittos lasting longer but MT hooking better is universal. I had the same experience years ago. I have Nitto nt555g2 on my car on 17” cobra Rs. But when I get tire of driving on ice I’ll get a set of those new drag wheels from LMR and some drag radials. Which one depends how strong my parts are at the time haha

Good video👍 One very important thing I’ve learned when choosing drag tires is to look at weight; a drag radial is significantly heavier then a bias ply slick, especially when you start talking rotating mass. So if your making less power a lighter tire is going to benefit you more when it comes to actual racing. There’s always a trade off so you have to decide what you want more, streetability or the most out of the power you have.

I ran the r888r's on my 87. They did great on the street and track. Still spun a bit on the street but far better then street tires

I just rebuilt an 86 fox master cylinder just upgraded the spring and a newer seal. In exchange I had earned a set of my first set of drag slicks. Practically new. Very little cuts dew to a fox wheel well 😒 on one of them . I hope it works out thanks Kaleb appreciate the heads up on the rear end possible issues to expect

A good budget road race or low profile tire for the street is the Achilles 123S. I’m very happy with them. They are a summer tire but still are decent in rain. And dry they grip like crazy!!

What if you not really going to be race and you just like how they look which one is best for just daily driving?

Hmmmm...what happened to your Red Corbeau seat? Guessing you filmed this a while back. I love my Toyo R888R. Got those on my 18 inch chrome ponies. Running 275/35/18. On my silver pony r wheels I have the Mickey Thompson SS Street tires 275/40/17. Planning on trying the ET Street R tires for my drag wheels.

I really wish I would've taken your advice and put 275s on the back of my vert 😫

My car is .06 faster on a 275/50r15 Nitto 555r than on the M/T Street SS in a 255/60r15. Both tires hook. Just to say the height is a factor! Thanks for the video!

Has anyone regrooved a drag radial? MT Drag Radial or NTO5 for extra traction for wet driving? Is there enough meat with small cutters?

You know what the deal is, it takes the right combination to make it work, power don't mean anything if you
can't keep the tires from spinning.
