Unfortunately, this Retro Laptop Repair Did NOT go according to plan! I was fixing a Toshiba Satellite Pro 400CDT with a bad CMOS Battery and a bad LCD Inverter Board, and we had a bit of a snap! Watch the video to see if we can still get this Vintage Windows 3.1 Laptop up and running again!

I continue to be impressed with your knowledge of and passion for retro tech! As always, you did a great job of explaining and showing what you were doing, making it easy to follow and learn. Great job! Looking forward to more! 🤗

Very impressive work Josh! It’s so cool to see the inner workings of the laptop and how much goes into running it! Such a shame about the crack, but way to roll with the punches and come up with a solution right away! Great job as always! ❤️

Josh, quick tip for gluing. Approximate the broken edges, apply tape, turn over, apply a bead of glue from the opposite side by using the tape as a hinge, then tape the side you glue on a flat surface.

Ah don’t feel too bad. I think the break was unavoidable. Like working with an eggshell after this many years. Nice work on the repairs!

Be sure you check for any recalls on laptop battery supplies.

No utterances necessary…I could feel the four-letter words when that snapped.
