A great harvest in a small container! I like the fact that you eat the greens of the sweet potato during the summer.

Patrick,   enjoy watching all of your videos on the organic gardening.  I have raised beds that I use for my vegetables and tried sweet potatoes for the first time this year.  I had a 4 x 20 ft. bed and planted 20 slips of Beauregard and was amazed that I got 146 lbs. of sweet potatoes out of this bed.  I live in zone 9b in south Louisiana.  To my surprise, I had one that went 4 lbs.  Needless to say all of the kids and neighbors have received a bag of potatoes.  Too much for the wife and I.  Well keep up the great videos.  Looking forward to some more.

Beautiful harvest. I'm looking forward to my sweet potato harvest next week. Ive been cooking the greens all summer in African dish with seafood, ground peanut 🥜 powder, and palm oil.

Nice work, looks good, harvest was great. Zone 4 here in Canada I start mine in soil mid Feb., then cut off slips mid to late Mar., in a cup or two of water for 2 weeks to develop more roots and into 1 gal pots sometime in Apr., here they'll grow till late May when they go in the ground. It's always fun in the fall to dig them up a see what you got. Same for potatoes, it's always a pleasure to see the results of a hidden crop you've been nurturing.

My family and I have always picked the slim sweet potatoes over the thicker ones. Most of the time I bake mine and enjoy eating the skin as well as the flesh. You have motivated me to grow some next season in those 3 foot rings.

Great harvest. I'm in Zone 6a- Detroit area. I had a 4x16' raised bed I built specifically for sweet potatoes this year. The harvest was meager and most tubers were covered in spots that looked like something had been eating at them so I just tossed all of them. I had a black plastic laundry tub that I had put 1 or 2 slips in (I think 1) and got 7 nice tubers. Next year they'll all be in containers. You've help convince me that it's the best way to go.

Awesome harvest! My garden in Eastern Ontario is zone 5 but I have yet to get any good sweet potatoes. I think I had them in an area that didn't get enough sun this last year so next year I'm going to move them to a different spot. From reading about them, they seem to grow long first and then fatter, and the fatness they get is reliant on the soil being consistently warm. Someone gave me a trick for curing sweet potatoes since they need humidity as well as heat. They said to put a bowl of hot water in a corner of a cooler then put the sweet potatoes in the rest of the cooler, close it, and leave it for a week.

Fantastic looking harvest Patrick especially when you consider all the greens you folks would of removed through the season. 👍👍
Cheers mate & happy growing. 🙂

Great harvest there! Also a timely reminder for me that I need to allocate some space next year to try and grow my own sweet potatoes. Not sure how well they'll grow here in the UK, but it'll be fun trying!

Beautiful harvest. I grew sweet potatoes from slips I started for the first time this year. I planted them in the front yard garden and liked how pretty the vines were. Thanks for sharing.

Terrific harvest! So happy for you. I did find that when sweet potatoes are in soft soil the get longer which leads me to believe this is how they should grow.

Patrick- When harvesting sweet potatoes I cure them by placing the box on top of the refrigerator. I use the same box you had on the video and put a cardboard cover over it. Also, I get better harvest using the 10 gallon black canvas bags. They thrive from the absorption of the heat and light. About five years ago I did it as an experiment and the yields were higher as well as better formation of the tubers. I place the bags on the south side in front of the raised beds. This creates a buffer for the other vegetables in the raised beds from the worst of the summer heat. (I am in zone 8-B.) Great videos!
