They make the strombolis with red sauce in philly and they are sold calzone this time we've been calling them strombolis. Thanks for the clarification

Both look eminently smashable. I'd order my calzone with pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, bacon, mushroom, black olive, green pepper, onion, artichoke, ricotta and mozzarella.

Stromboli...dough rolled out, layer of Genoa salami, then Capicola (spicy ham), then layer of provolone, and finally topped with mozzarella cheese. I make them at home better than the pizza guys do.

Calzone has pizza sauce. It's a pizza folded in half. Stromboli is like a italian cold cut but rolled w/ pizza dough instead of a sub roll.
