I want to thank the adoptive parents for loving and raising him; and for keeping him out of the foster care system.

I like how he stated that the vibe of her shop made him “comfortable”

His heart knew it was a familiar feeling ❤

The thing that sticks out to me is how genetics shape who we are. Not only do they look alike, they both are wisecrackers, and he laughs like her brother.

This makes me so happy. She used to work with my friend and they knew that she needed to open a bakery as she would bring goods to the office. When I heard about her in 2008/2009, I started supporting her business, even purchasing her goods for my sister’s wedding reception . Her products are always delicious. Blessings to you and your son, Lenore.

I’m born and raised on the south side of Chicago. And I can HONESTLY say that Gimme Some Sugah is BY FAR 1 of the BEST (if not the BEST) bakeries in the city! 💯 makes me legitimately miss living on the south side 😢

I’m not a weepy person, but man this made me tear up. When I heard how he learned to bake & took over running the shop for her, while she was sick…😭 This really could be a movie, it’s such a great story!

1:40 "Little did he know, he'd be led right behind the counter of his favourite bakery, back to Lenore." Brilliant writing.

AND THEY LOOK JUST ALIKE! Crazy to show how you can really be face to face with someone and not see it. I love how he gave credit to God. God makes all things beautiful in it's time. Amazing story.

Miss Lenore's caramel cake is AWESOME!! I live in L.A. now but used to live on 68th and Oglesby in Chicago and would go down to her bakery at least a few times each month. Bravo!!❤

They’re both healing up and making up for lost time. What a blessing for Lenore’s having her sweet son step in and get into the biz with her. So nice.

Stories like this makes me happy & sad... I was also adopted & found my birth family almost 50 years later. But it never would have happened if not for the help from elderly retired Army veterans, 2 Japanese reporters, & a world famous MMA fighter all reaching out to help a stranger find her family. It's quite an incredible tale & I wish I could get my story out to tell other adoptees to not give up on their own search for answers. I haven't met my mother & her son (my half brother) in person yet as they still live in Japan. I have also found my bio-father in Oklahoma, but there is no desire on his part to meet me & his granddaughter. I hope some day to make it to Japan to finally see my mother face to face. Sadly, circumstances over the years keep getting in the way & I've had to put those dreams aside due to financial & health reasons. She just turned 83 years old & her only wish is to hug me again before she departs this life...

He likes it the way his momma cooks it. Even when he didn’t know it was from his mother.

It wasn't just the delicious desserts that was bringing him back. This reunion was meant to happen. I'm so happy for both of them, and all the family members that gained something special.

Its crazy, I've never been to this bakery, but it's right down the street from my house. ☺💜
