Tonkin Gulf False Flag Debunked

Perhaps the greatest myth of the Vietnam War is the idea that the "Gulf of Tonkin Incident" was a "false flag" operation designed to get the United States directly involved in the conflict. Much of the myth is based on the combining of two incidents into one. But deeper than that is a lack of understanding of US policy at the time, and the general political situation in Washington. In this video we debunk a persistent myth and give a clearer context to events in the Gulf of Toinkin in the summer of 1964.

The more I learn about the early years/origin of the Vietnam War, the more it reminds me of WWI in many ways: a cascade of bad decisions, miscommunication, and misunderstanding on both sides that spiraled out of control.

Yeah, somehow when the public heard that something was "faked" they immediately went in the other extreme direction and assumed that everything was faked as a false flag. No, this was a case of instruments and people freaking out, as often happens.
