Update: HOTEL CHECK IN RULES in Spain 2025

I bring you an update straight from the hoteliers on how best to prepare for your Summer holiday in Spain regarding the hotel check-in rules for 2025.

One point I forgot to include was supplying a mobile phone number too when checking in at your hotel🤦🏽‍♀️!

When I checked into the hotel in Fuerteventura, they gave me a form to fill in, I took it with me and never filled it in.

Checked in torremolinos December 22nd only extra questions were email address, a phone number and home address, all printed out by hotel no issues

This is not new and it happened to me in London 20 years ago. I took my granddaughter to London from Scotland and the hotel I'd booked and paid for would not allow me to check in without a credit card. At that time I did not have a credit card and they wouldnt accept my debit card. I spent over half an hour explaining to them and they then said I could leave a deposit of £300 which would be returned to me on check out. I explained that I wouldn't have any money to spend if I gave them £300. Eventually the manager waived the deposit but it was a bad start to our weekend and wasted time wecould have been exploring the city.

Happy new year to you, We come over to the pirate village in Santa Ponsa every year and we been giving them email, address and family relationship I don't have any problems with this. I was concerned about CC and debit card details being uploaded. this is great news that it's not going to happen.

Hola Alex I've just arrived back to the uk from nerja and didn't notice much change for my hotel check in all they asked me for was name address phone no and email details no problems I really enjoyed my stay at the nerja club spa hotel and the weather was sunny happy times😂xx

Great info on speeding up checkins. Could the hotels not just process our booking details at their leisure behind the scenes when the package tour company books the hotel. Hotel can allocate a room/rooms and send a QR code to our lead passenger email address ? When we arrive at the hotel all we need to do is show the QR code at the desk or collect the key from a drop off box.
This is how check in happens at the airport, so why not at the hotel ? Comment ?

'The pine processionary caterpillar is found mainly in pine forests in Mallorca and can be identified by the thousands of small poisonous hairs that cover its body. The caterpillars measure between 3 and 4 cm in length and are usually orange to brown in colour.' I've not heard of these before, thanks for the warning.
