_________________________________________________________
What do working class voters who supported Boris Johnson in 2019 think of Conservative leadership favourite Rishi Sunak? Has their opinion changed after seeing the resurfaced clip from a Channel 4 documentary in which the former Chancellor appears to laugh about not having "working class friends"?

We went to East Kent to speak to working class Tory voters to find out what they thought, and if it changed anything for them.

Replacing Johnson with anyone from this current government is like shitting your pants and just only changing your trousers 🤷‍♂️

The thing is, Boris is posh too and has said far worse things about working class people; yet some of these people still voted for him.

What a wonderful world it would be if swearing was the most offensive thing us humans did. I find Tory and most gov's policies far more offensive and far less honest.

The lack of education in the social, economic and political history of this country is shocking, and plays into the hands and benefits of an elite class.

2:17 "what they need is someone like Liz Truss" someone needs to tell this man that no Tory is for the working class (neither are many Labour MPs that are currently serving for that matter)

How many of those interviewed voted for Johnson despite what was already known about Johnson? How many of those interviewed called anyone who warned against voting for Johnson "remoaners", "traitors" and "snowflakes"?

The very term ‘working class Boris voter’ is mind boggling enough.

God, the amount of classism and snobbery in this comment section, just because these working class people are enjoying a drink and swearing a bit. Never fails to surprise me as an Irish person how Britain still runs on a rigid caste system

EDIT: Not to imply that Ireland doesn't have classism either, whoo boy it does, but not at this level, and not baked into its institutions as much

I'm from this area. I have this accent. They'll all vote for the Tories again. Either that or they won't vote and they'll say "All politicians are the same what's the point!" It's inconceivable to them to vote for Labour because "woke" "trans" "snowflake" "communist" "politically correct" "some other buzzword."

It's simple. The whole cabinet should earn minimum wage.

I am really horrified to think that so many working class people, who should know better, voted Tory and were utterly conned by B.J., seeing this upper class, Eton schoolboy as representing them. It makes me think of Trump and the massive damage he has done in the US where there are still fears for the death of democracy. OK, BJ is going but I am still deeply concerned as the Tories adopt republican policies and I worry that the UK will never recover. I still canNOT comprehend the Brexit vote which has left me in despair. .

but i'd put money on it that they voted tory. Somehow johnson was their buddy but the rest, all who followed same polocies makes them what? Diffferent. I bet they'l still vote tory. This country is finished.

We need Liz Truss? Hardly an upgrade…

We need a general election, get the whole lot out

How many of these people know that the personal allowance for FOUR WEEKS Universal Credit is the same amount that members of the House of 'Lords' get for attending for ONE DAY ! They do not even need to do anything- they can spend the entire day in one of Parliaments many subsidised bars !
That's over privileged public schoolboys running things !

Half of these people voted for Brexit. Let's be real.

The guy in the background at the end said Johnson had a horrible job from the start. But it was Johnson who had created that position in advocating Leaving the EU. it was obviously a ploy to become PM but only worked because of illicit Russian support and a ruthless disregard for honesty and principle. Whether he wanted the job so much he colluded as part of his own plan or they had something over him and being PM was a sweetener to get compliance can only be surmised. But Johnson was the linchpin of the horrible mess Brexit created. So our pandemic response was inadequate and our destabilising of the EU and NATO by our departure gave Putin the confidence to invade Ukraine. Johnson made this clusterbed of rusted nails we have to lie in. He deserves no leeway or mealy mouthed apologetics. He deserves only approbation.

Yes what we need is someone like liz truss... who thinks its acceptable to host a working lunch at a business owed by a tory party donor and rack up a bill of several thousand pounds and expect the taxpayer to cover her expenses. She's not exactly in touch with the working class either tbh
