Solutions:
- Recompress the video (slow, lowers quality)
- Change video file's extension from MP4 to MOV (for me it didn't worked with .AVI, .MTS, .WMV, .QT, .YUV)

For me, the .mov files were the ones that screwed things up for me.
It was funny, the 4K video off of my iPhone 8 was spot on when you would play the .mov file on my computer.
But it was the .mov file type that gave me problems in Premiere Pro.
I converted the video into .mp4, imported into Premiere Pro...the quality is great, and the audio synced perfectly.

The issue I'm going through is super annoying, I have a 12:04 minute video I need to edit and I'm being slowed down because I have to do this all over, smh. Thanks for the help. This issue is very, very annoying.

I just encountered the problem in Premiere Pro the other way round - MOV moved way out of sync as the video went on but change extension to mp4 and it remained in sync.

I dont understand how simply changing the file extension name alters the playback. Anyone explaion why this is the case?
